Voice of the Aspen
Sue's second historical novel, Voice of the Aspen, is another powerful and emotional adventure story
, set in Victorian Hertfordshire but also in a different world of change and conflict.

Voice of the Aspen

Q Where does the title come from?

A An aspen is a tree, and the title - all of it - is Lamb's real name, which tells you something about Native American customs and beliefs. But I can't say any more.

Q What is your favourite part of the story?

A When Miss Baker tells the Squire what she thinks of him. I also like the last paragraph, which was like a written version of a one-take scene. It was just right first time, and that NEVER happens!

"beautifully written" Karen Clarke,
Bucks Examiner.
