I have just finished reading! Thank you Sue for this insight into your world. It is a deeply personal book but somehow it invites you in and makes it easy to relate to. It is like listening to a friend rather than reading a book. It is touching, it flows and makes me think that nobody can stay indifferent to climate change and injustice after reading about Sue’s experience with activism.

Sue’s story so accurately reflected my own experiences of rebellion, I felt I was there! Warmly written, from a passionate heart. Thank you!

Recommended. A first hand, honest account of a true Friend of the earth – a grandma who put her health, safety and livelihood on the line for XR. Some creative work and very moving poems. Sue always mixes it up. This is will become an historical account of a moment of change. Well done, Friend Sue

This is an amazing book – the stories and poems are powerful and moving. If you’ve sat in the road to block traffic, been arrested and been to court, you will identify with Sue’s experiences, or if you are a grandparent constantly concerned about your grandchildren’s future, or if you simply care about our world, wildlife and humanity. There is something for everyone to relate to, and learn from Sue’s wisdom and insight.
